Formula 1 GP in Prague?

prague_panoramaAntonin Charouz, a czech businessman would like to introduce Formula 1 GP in Prague on a new street circuit.

The businessman , who owns the DTM and F3 series rights in the Czech republic and has stake in several DTM and F3 team will bring DTM to Prague to a new race track to the outskirts of Prague.

But his target is a new formula 1 track in the downtown of Prague, so he already consulted with Herman Tilke , the famous track designer, to look over the map of Prague for a possible race track, which could cost around 110million EUR. First race possible in 2012.

Meantime, the Bulgarian F1 GP is on halt as the goverment does not want to invest funds into the project. The bulgarian goverment would like only put the area of the track into the project, which is still a lot of money, but not enough, said Bogdan Nikolov the chairman of the bulgarian motorsport association.

So by that time, enjoy the hungarian grand prix on hungaroring circuit!
