Are you going to attend the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring in Budapest?
The easiest way to call a taxi and take a ride there. Pls do not hail one on the street. Ask the hotel to call one for you or you can ask the hotel to call one of the taxi company which has fixed tariffs.
But it is still way over the cost of the mass transportation. As the Hungaroring race track is lying on the outskirts of Budapest at Mogyorod village. Mogyorod is a living place so there are buses, suburban train go there frequently.
All you need to do is to take to Ors Vezer Tere which is the last stop of the red underground (running from Deli train station to Ors Vezer Tere). You have to go through passage under the road and on the other side there’s the station for the suburban train (called HEV in hungarian, green train looks like a tram).
Check out timetable here (pdf file) and back here (also pdf). Look carefully not all train goes to Mogyorod!
Mogyorod is only 17km from Budapest, takes 30mins to get there.
Total cost (one way) : 1xticket to the underground 320HUF + 1x HEV ticket to Mogyorod 490HUF
Once you took off the HEV, you have to walk a bit, but follow the crowd…Mogyorod is not a big place
As it was last year, there will be a Street Parade before the Formula 1 Race in Budapest, so you will be able to see real formula 1 race cars in action, and have a taste of the hungarian gastronomy and wine & palinka.
